I love Music part 1
Growing up in Africa, I got used listening to music I didn’t understand. I listened to just about anything, Afro-Cuban, Zouglou, American hip hop, soul, rock, pop, French folk music, you name it. I learned early to appreciate music not merely for cerebral or educational reasons.
Music for me was an existential affair; it made me appreciate other cultures; it made me feel alive, angry, happy, sad, joyful. So yeah, I love music and I would like to introduce, or reintroduce as the case may be, some of my favorite francophone artists. Sure you may not understand what’s said, but, if you listen with an open ear, you may enjoy it nonetheless.
Coeur de Pirate - Canada
La Patere Rose - Canada
Stromae - Belgium/Rwanda
Baloji - Congo/Belgium
Smod - Mali
Féfé - France/Nigeria
Fefe - Dans ma rue CLIP Exclu 2009

Hi, Yves!
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to meet another Francophone Music lover. Definitely digging Stromae and Fefe these days. Thank you for introducing me to some of the other artists too.
Btw, have you seen the videos of how Stromae puts the different beats together for his songs? The guy is a genius!
